We only select the best tencha (raw material) for our Gold Class – the darker the better since it contains more chlorophyll (see Benefits below). Gold Class only uses 1st Flush (1st Harvest) tencha. The 1st Flush is always the best because brand new baby leaves are handpicked and have been on the tea tree for a shorter duration. I am in love with this matcha! I have always enjoyed matcha. I will drink it like regular tea, add it to a smoothie or even bake with it. I have tried many different brands and I have to say that Midori Springs is the best brand I have used yet. You can tell the quality from first glance as the packaging is air tight to protect the product. When I "popped" the lid, the smell was refreshing. This Matcha does not have a heavy flavour. It is a lovely light flavour with a sweet aftertaste. Not overly sweet, just a pleasant end note. If you want to experiment with matcha, I recommend trying out the recipes on their website midorispring,com. They have a how to brew green tea video as well as recipes for smoothies, matcha pancakes and tiramisu. This is a high quality product. This is really great matcha! Bright jade color, and tastes great! I've tried others that aren't nearly as bright green, and literally taste like grass and mud. Not so with Midori Spring Matcha! Leaves me alert and feeling great! Highly recommended!

I'm quite impressed with this green tea. I like to have drink this hot before I go on my daily run. It's cold outside and I need something a little warm inside me before I hit the road. I think it helps give me that boost I need to run! I have to motivate myself to go out there in the cold and run. I sometimes get lazy on cold days and don't want to run, but I have too. I'm training for my first half marathon! This tea has a great flavor! I've been impressed with this tea and I think the packaging is quite nice also! Give it a try!
